For the younger reader. Second or third grade age would be best for this book. There is a lot of humor. The younger reader could relate to this book.

This was a good book for older children. I would suggest older 6 graders or middle schoolers. It was how daughter and mother deal with the return of their father and husband from the Iqua war. He has an arm, leg, and traumatic brain injuries. He is never the same father or husband he was once.
