JAKE by Audrey Couloumbis

Jake is for older readers. It starts with Jake's mother breaking her leg. Jake's grandpa is called
to help. No one knows grandpa though. Touching and thoughtful. This takes a while to get

This was a good book for older children. I would suggest older 6 graders or middle schoolers. It was how daughter and mother deal with the return of their father and husband from the Iqua war. He has an arm, leg, and traumatic brain injuries. He is never the same father or husband he was once.

Franny Parker is an interesting book but should be read by older children
such as late 5th grade and up. It is about new beginnings and young love.
